This is very cool, if somewhat remniscent of spider man 2, if true. Free energy could really change the global patterns of wealth and power, in addition to the positive environmental impact. Nancy Kress envisioned something similar in her fiction novel &quot;Beggars in Spain&quot; but I think her concept might have been fusion based.
In some ways I think this is a great idea. Even if Steorn&#039;s IP protection is not strong, publicizing it this way and disclosing the technology to various scientists could prevent big oil, for example, from buying up the IP &amp; burying the technology so noone can use it.
Of course I still remember the cold fusion scam that went to the news outlets before it went to scientific journals before ultimately being disproved. Odd that Steorn chose the Economist to challenge the scientists. It&#039;s not a journal commonly read by scientists.</description>
