Best biz school in the north

I’m attending the best business school north of Warwick. Bizarre way to present the results, but it sounds better than 8th best in the country, I suppose.

Corporate Wisdom - Sir John Parker

I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend Leeds University Business School’s third Corporate Wisdom event last night.  The speaker was Sir John Parker, chairman of National Grid. Cost Benefit Analysis for Windsave system

Mark Brinkley has bought a domestic wind turbine. If you don’t know who Mark is, he is author of cult self-build manual ‘The Housebuilder’s Bible’. Turns out the message isn’t half as important as how the message is conveyed. Sounds rational, doesn’t it? I started writing this post with a view to reviewing carbon rationing but it quickly evolved into a lesson on communicating and persuasion. I’ll begin with a video of Mayer Hillman on YouTube from BBC Breakfast [...]

Websites round two: CIBSE vs. ASHRAE

I felt a little guilty for picking on CIBSE in my last post, so I thought I’d check out the competition across the pond: ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers - almost as snappy a title as Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers).
I’ll give them top marks for having some podcasts available [...]
