My del.icio.us bookmarks for June 30th through July 5th
These are my links for June 30th through July 5th:
- Comment period for first ANSI green building standard complete- 7/1/2008 11:25:00 AM - Building Design & Construction - Green Globes positioning themselves to take on LEED (and BREEAM). The changes sound very familiar and similar to BREEAM. I believe Green Globes was born from a Canadian version of BREEAM.
- Buildings in England and Wales score an average ‘C’ energy rating - Corporate - Communities and Local Government - Some believe these figures to be slightly rosy, as the buildings done so far are 'good' or 'new' compared to the average stock
- Guest Column–Overview of LEED and Green Globes Rating System - Good rough guide to the differences between Green Globes and LEED with a comment made at the end from Green Globes.
- Inconvenient Truths: Get Ready to Rethink What It Means to Be Green - Controversial article from Wired. Got a lot of press, but not all the rethinks are that odd to me. Some good stuff - some wrong stuff. An exercise in journalism rather than real news!
- Two Studies Measure Perks of Green Buildings | News | Architectural Record - Data on lower energy use and higher rental and occupancy rates for LEED and Green Star buildings in US. However, high energy use buildings such as data centres underperformed.
