    The fco don’t have to have a breeam assessment – the requirement says breeam ir equivalent. That’s why in defence their use their own similar assessment tool (dreeam), introduced partly because the bespokebreeam methods they were having to use were (a) expensive and (b) not that appropriate (and bre wouldn’t change the method to make it more so).

    So fco and other govt depts abroad could use leed as an alternative.
